Warehouse Management Application

A global logistics company hired Scalans to build an app that would help them to effectively control and manage their warehouse operations. Our client needed an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool to track inventory, orders, shipments and handle large amounts of data.

Receiving real-time updates of warehouse activities was the client’s main objective for the development of the app. Keeping this in mind, the Scalans tech specialists swung into action to bring the idea into fruition.

The app UI is designed as simple icons that showcase features like product dashboard, SKU management, shipping updates, stock records, payments, etc. Product details and transactions can be easily updated in the relevant fields provided. An important feature is the in-built QR and barcode scanner that helps in scanning product codes using the smartphone. GPS is also incorporated for real-time tracking of incoming and outgoing inventory transfer between warehouses.

To check transactions and stock movement during a given time period, advanced filters were provided. Warehouse reports can be quickly generated and shared in Excel and PDF formats. The app works in both online and offline modes.

Platform: Web, iOS and Android

By using the app, warehouse managers of the company found it really convenient to control operations on-the-go; even during travel.

The amount of paperwork drastically decreased, the daily workflows could be better streamlined and order picking became well-organized. All this boosted labor productivity and staff performance.

 In the long run, the real-time information collection and reporting using the warehouse management app reduced labor costs and improved inventory accuracy and customer service.
